Emilie has always been fascinated by businesses and the factors that contribute to their success. While pursuing her education, she gained valuable hands-on experience working with various small businesses in human resources and accounting.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, Emilie pursued her entrepreneurial vision and founded Business Bookkeepers Inc in Denver, Colorado. As an experienced bookkeeper, Emilie partners with CEOs, executives, and entrepreneurs to provide reliable financial support, improve business operations, and help clients make informed decisions that contribute to long-term growth and financial success.

Emilie brings a strong professional background in bookkeeping, payroll, human resources, auditing, and QuickBooks training. In 2016, while working as an independent bookkeeper, she played an instrumental role in helping a small business grow into a publicly traded company. Her commitment to providing personalized, high-quality financial services has continued to drive the growth of Business Bookkeepers Inc

Since its founding, Business Bookkeepers Inc has expanded its team to include three additional bookkeepers and tax return preparers. In 2020, the company further expanded its presence with the opening of an office in Atlanta, Georgia.

Today, Emilie continues to help business owners build stronger financial foundations, streamline their accounting processes, and position their businesses for sustainable growth.

A native of Peru, Katy Cortez moved to Denver 25 years ago as a young child. She began her professional career as a dental assistant in a pediatric dental practice, where her dedication and organizational skills quickly led to an opportunity to become the office manager. In this role, Katy discovered her interest in business operations and finance, setting the foundation for her future career.

Katy earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and, after graduating, began her career in the financial services industry with a retirement and financial planning firm. As part of her role, she prepared tax returns for the firm’s long-term clients. Through this experience, Katy discovered a passion for helping individuals and businesses navigate their tax obligations and achieve greater financial organization.

With more than seven years of tax preparation experience, Katy has prepared over 1,500 individual and business tax returns. In addition to her tax expertise, she has extensive experience assisting businesses with bookkeeping software setup, training, and financial organization. Katy works closely with business owners to establish efficient bookkeeping systems and develop practical processes that help them maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Katy’s combination of tax knowledge, bookkeeping expertise, and commitment to client service makes her a valuable resource for individuals and business owners seeking dependable financial support.

Kathryn grew up visiting and working at her father’s orthodontic practice, where she gained firsthand insight into the day-to-day operations of a small business. Beginning as a front office assistant, she quickly developed an interest in the financial and administrative aspects of the practice and discovered a passion for accounting and business management.

In 2021, Kathryn earned two Bachelor of Business Administration degrees, specializing in Accounting and Finance. Following graduation, she pursued opportunities to further develop her expertise in the accounting and financial services industry, which eventually brought her from Florida to Georgia and to Business Bookkeepers Inc

Kathryn joined the Business Bookkeepers Inc team in June 2021 as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper. Since joining the company, she has continued to expand her knowledge and expertise in accounting and bookkeeping while developing the skills necessary to provide dependable and effective financial support to clients.

Kathryn is committed to professional growth and takes pride in helping businesses maintain organized, accurate, and efficient financial records.

Cydne has always been naturally curious about how systems operate and what makes them function effectively. When entering college, she explored several career paths before ultimately discovering that accounting aligned with her interests and strengths. She chose to pursue accounting and quickly found the field to be both challenging and rewarding, reinforcing her decision to build a career in the profession.

After graduating from college, Cydne began her professional career in the Student Accounts Office at her alma mater. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, she developed strong customer service, organizational, and financial administration skills. Her experience at the university provided her with a solid foundation in accounting while further motivating her to expand her technical knowledge and expertise.

Cydne joined the Business Bookkeepers Inc team in June 2025. Since joining the company, she has continued to develop her bookkeeping and accounting skills while gaining valuable hands-on experience supporting clients and their financial needs. Cydne is committed to continuous learning and professional growth as she advances her career in accounting.

Brandon is a U.S. Army veteran with a strong passion for finance and accounting. In 2022, he earned two Bachelor of Science degrees, specializing in Finance and Economics. He continued his education by pursuing and earning a Master of Science in Accounting, further strengthening his knowledge and expertise in the field.

Following the completion of his military service and graduate studies, Brandon and his wife settled in Georgia to begin the next chapter of their lives. With a desire to gain a comprehensive understanding of business operations and financial management, Brandon pursued a career in bookkeeping to develop a strong practical foundation in accounting.

Brandon joined Business Bookkeepers Inc in June 2026 as an Assistant Bookkeeper. Since joining the team, he has continued to expand his accounting and bookkeeping knowledge through hands-on experience and professional development. Brandon is committed to continuously strengthening his skills and building a successful career in accounting while providing dependable financial support to the businesses he serves.
